Hello!
In my work, I explore the deep connections between humanity, nature, spirituality, and the complex emotions within us. Living and creating in Yodfat, in the beautiful Galilee, I am deeply influenced by my Finnish heritage, which brings an element of peace and simplicity to my art. Growing up with Finnish traditions, I developed a profound appreciation for minimalism, the beauty of quiet spaces, and the deep connection to nature. These influences shape my work, especially through the use of white space to represent inner contemplation and clarity.
My creative process begins with an internal journey of exploration, where I engage with emotions and spirituality. Each piece is a search for beauty in the small moments and human encounters of everyday life. Nature walks in the Galilee, where the landscape meets the spirit, inspire me and spark new ideas for my work.
My prints are created through a unique linocut process. I carve into linoleum blocks, revealing images and emotions hidden within the material. Each print is then hand-pressed onto high-quality paper, making each piece unique and infused with the energy of the process.
Through my art, I explore the complexity of human experiences—joy, inspiration, fear, and vulnerability. The interplay between these elements reveals beauty and depth, as I examine the dialogue between the physical landscape and my inner world.
I am Haviva Seligson, a mother to two beautiful boys, a partner of one precious man and a strong believer in the power of now. My life in Yodfat, surrounded by the natures of the Galilee, continues to shape my creative journey, guiding me to find beauty in the fleeting moments of life.
